Paula Bailey Egger

Paula, born in 1951, is a native of Southlake. A 1970 graduate, Paula was a member of the Girls Basketball Team as a forward, known for her “Hook” shot. She served as Team Captain in 1969 and 1970, averaging 24 points per game during her 1970 season. She received All-District recognition in 1968, 1969, and 1970 and All-Star in 1970. In 1969, the Girls Basketball Team would advance to the Regional Tournament, the 1st in school history.

After graduating from Carroll High School, she started a career in banking and retired after 45 years as a Senior Vice President in commercial lending. Paula served two terms on the board of Keep Southlake Beautiful and as a committee member for the formation of Bob Jones Park. Paula writes, “My husband of 49 years, Douglas, and I raised two daughters, Randi Egger Leatherwood & Valerie Egger Lavalley.  Both of our girls also attended CISD, grades 1-12. Both were athletes at the Junior Varsity and Varsity level. Currently, I have two grandchildren, Cameron and Silas Lavalley, attending Carroll Elementary. Since season tickets were made available, I am a Dragon Football season ticket holder and a fan of the Dragons!  We have traveled to most away, playoff, and state games.” To this day, Paula and her family continue to support the Carroll Dragons as some of their biggest fans!
