Few distance runners have come through Carroll more successful than Lowe. He was an elite runner and one of the best in the nation and considered the school’s best male distance runner. Lowe was a five-time individual UIL Class 5A state champion in the 1,600 and 3,200 meter distance events. He was also a leader on the Dragons’ cross country team and was a two-time individual champion at the state meet.
