Jay Armstrong moved to Southlake and began his adventure as a Dragon in November of 1998. His gift of instant recollection of game stats quickly earned the admiration of players and coaches alike and the rest, as they say, is history. Despite being wheelchair-bound due to Cerebral Palsy, Jay never let his diagnosis keep him from becoming one of the most involved sports alumni Southlake has ever seen. Jay’s days as a student at Carroll came to a close when he graduated in May 2002, but after earning a BS in Sports Management from the University of Texas, he was headed home to Southlake. Jay currently serves as an integral part of the Carroll ISD Athletic Department in Sports Information and Social Media Relations.
People have said that the hard drive that contains all things Dragon Athletics is in Jay’s head. He can recall details from a game years ago as if it were yesterday. He continues to dedicate his life to upholding the Dragon Traditions instilled in him long ago, “bleeding green”.
